About this artwork
Photogravure is a handcrafted technique that allows the transfer of an image from one of my painted creations onto a copper or photopolymer plate via photosensitive gelatin.
Used in the 19th century to reproduce an image in large numbers, it is now used mainly in the artistic field.
This heliogravure depicts mountains that are both protective and mysterious in a serene universe.
Its composition is like a window open to a distant horizon.
It… is made on two superimposed photopolymer plates, one of which is embossed. They are inked by hand, placed on a sheet of 300gsm paper and then run through a printing press in my workshop.
