The Blue Cat, symbol of neurodivergent identity, through a broken and recomposed form. Each fragment is a part of memory, of experience, of inner chaos. Some pieces are transparent, others opaque, others still contain symbols, numbers, engraved words. There is no immediate logic, but an intimate coherence, like that of the autistic mind that observes and builds according to a different order.
The sculpture is held together by iron wire, visible… as an irregular, imperfect and necessary seam: it represents the will that holds us together, that invisible force that every day keeps us united even when inside we are in pieces.
Inside the body there is a hidden source of light. But not a decorative light: it is a light that is there but that barely lets itself filter through, as happens in introverted or wounded people.
ThaBlueCat, a self-taught Italian visual artist, combines painting, sculpture and symbolic language in his art. He uses techniques such as expressive divisionism and the use of translucent materials such as blue PETG for his sculptures, often backlit to symbolize an internal consciousness. His works explore the autistic condition, symbolized through the figure of the Blue Cat, trying to express themes such as perception, isolation and acute sensitivity. Emotions of tension, attention, introspection and resistance pervade his work, a resistant art form that speaks to those who feel out of step with the world.
