About this artwork
In this canvas, I explore the uncertain border between ascent and descent, between progress and confusion. The Blue Cat appears suspended between two possibilities: is he climbing imaginary stairs or is he descending them? The ambiguity of his posture is a visual metaphor of the inner gaze, of those moments in which we do not know if we are improving or simply changing shape.
The technique mixes controlled dripping and selective masking, in a process… that welcomes chaos as a fundamental element of creation. Nothing is really under control, yet every drop seems to find its place in the disorder. As in the autistic mind, the apparent disorganization hides a deep structure.
The color blue dominates the scene, with darker veins and lighter spots suggesting depth and movement. The stylized staircase dissolves downwards, while a marked drop in the upper right interrupts the balance, like a question mark left there on purpose.

ThaBlueCat, a self-taught Italian visual artist, combines painting, sculpture and symbolic language in his art. He uses techniques such as expressive divisionism and the use of translucent materials such as blue PETG for his sculptures, often backlit to symbolize an internal consciousness. His works explore the autistic condition, symbolized through the figure of the Blue Cat, trying to express themes such as perception, isolation and acute sensitivity. Emotions of tension, attention, introspection and resistance pervade his work, a resistant art form that speaks to those who feel out of step with the world.
