About this artwork
This large-scale work is a striking example of abstract painting, created with acrylic paints on canvas. It is part of a series of works from 2004, when I was exploring the relationship between color, form and movement.
In 'Eclipsing Horizons', intense blues and yellows merge to create a powerful depiction of transitions and change.
The black lines and structures that run through the layers of paint act like shadows that obscure the horizon, while… the bright colors shine through and create a tension between light and darkness.
This work invites the viewer to explore the moments in which the familiar disappears into the shadows and new perspectives emerge.
Eclipsing Horizons' represents the unstoppable dynamic of change and the constant flow of light, darkness and the boundaries in between.
