About this artwork
You can see a travel picture from a trip through China. Specifically, this is Huangshan in Anhui Province near the "Yellow Mountains". The painter's niece was on her way from Shanghai to Beijing by train when she took the photo that served as a template and inspiration for this picture. Ulla Kutter was enthusiastic about the colors that meet here and likes the contrast between man-made and the invariably beautiful nature. While painting, she discovered…
a lot that was initially not clear to her. The people at the train station behave very differently: There is a kissing couple as well as two female fashion fans and a lot more to discover in this very atmospheric picture. The special luminosity is created by a light orange underpainting of the picture.
