About this artwork
"Laced Souls" depicts two figures whose bodies are intertwined in an unusual way. Arms and legs appear knotted, connected by lines reminiscent of shoelaces, threads, or taut strings.
Their silhouettes are almost like a pair of shoes – two units created to move forward together. Every movement of one directly influences the other. Harmony becomes a prerequisite for progress; resistance leads to stagnation.
The connection appears neither unequivocally… protective nor liberating. It can provide support or restrict, guide or hold. The work reflects relationships, communities, and societal tensions. Our actions never remain isolated—every gesture generates a reaction, every decision shifts the balance.

And how far would we get if we acted in the same rhythm?

As Uomo Nero, Christoph Czarnetzke creates a mysterious fusion of archaic ritual and introspective self-exploration through painting and sculpture.
