About this artwork
“Shadows of Liberation” depicts three intertwined figures in a tension between proximity and separation. Two dominant bodies meet in the upper part of the picture plane, while a third extends across them – neither clearly separated nor completely united.
The figure on the right seems to be breaking free, as if trying to shed all weight. Its impulse is directed outwards, away from the center. The figure on the left, however, leans towards it, clinging,… following, as if trying to hold back the moment of its disappearance.
From the fleeing movement, a new connection simultaneously emerges – another body forms in the lower area, almost like an energetic imprint.
The work reflects on attachment as a paradox: closeness creates both support and limitation.
Those who leave leave something behind. Those who stay carry something on.
Freedom appears here not as a break, but as a shadow form of connectedness.
