About this artwork
The work was presented at the four-person exhibition "Regina Viarum" in the former paper mill at the Appian Way Park in Rome in 2023; the use of paper is therefore linked to the characteristics of the venue hosting the event.
The steps of my work: I arranged some scraps of paper on top of the four paper strips, which I then painted with acrylic paint. I removed the overlapping parts from each paper strip and glued them to the adjacent white plastic… mesh strip. This way, the remaining white/empty parts of each strip correspond to the colored/solid part of the adjacent strip (which produces a transparent effect).
What I was looking for is a vibrant full/empty effect
