About this artwork
This diptych, "Residual Light" from the series "Echo of Silence" is a visual immersion into the depths of shadows, memory and intuitive perception. Both parts are mirror images of each other, immersing the viewer in a mysterious, meditative environment where light only slightly breaks through the dense, velvety darkness.
Translucent layers of paint applied in a mixed technique create an effect of depth and shimmer, as if we are looking through fog… or water. It seems that silhouettes are hiding in the structure of the paper, appearing and disappearing with each new look — these are either figures or memories dissolved in space.
Shades of green, blue and purple, smoothly flowing into each other, create a feeling of forest breathing, twilight and memories hidden in the shadows. This diptych is not a story, it's about an echo: a residual sound after a conversation, a memory of something that no longer exists.
