About this artwork
"In this watercolor I express the vitality, color and unique atmosphere of a lakeside or coastal village. I want to convey a sense of authenticity, community life and harmony with the aquatic environment. With the bright colors of the mountains and the flight of strange birds I hope to bring a touch of dynamism and exoticism and give off an impression of warmth, quiet activity and the happiness of the beauty of simple life. In this watercolor I tell… a scene of daily life in a picturesque village, somewhere in another world.
I want to show the interaction between the inhabitants, their traditional stilt dwellings and their natural environment. I wanted a celebration of a particular way of life, an open window on a culture and a colorful and charming landscape. I invite you to travel with me, to discover and appreciate the diversity of the world, and to remember the pleasure of a simple life close to nature
Born in Villeneuve-sur-Lot, William Marcheval is a polymorphic artist, moving from painting to computer graphics. He practices glazing and sfumato, approaching Impressionism with a touch of naiveté. His constantly evolving works combine realism and abstraction, exploring themes such as tenderness and humanism. Marcheval seeks to evoke wonder, questioning, and escape through his artwork.
