About this artwork
In the 1980s, the immune deficiency AIDS was discovered and caused great consternation and a change in sexual morality. While previously other sexually transmitted diseases could be more or less controlled, AIDS now meant a death sentence. The disease originated in apes in Africa and was passed on to humans. For this reason, I set this scene in the jungle. Tarzan, muscular, as a representative of the white race, suffers a shipwreck and falls headfirst… from a tree as a sign of post-colonialism. The two black natives look on indifferently. At that time, the N-word was not yet banned. The painting is also wild. Expressive, painted upside down, it is reminiscent of Georg Baselitz.
Tarzan's underpants with animal print, leopard pattern. While the old Heracles had a lion skin wrapped around his hips, Tarzan's "Leopard Brazilian Tanga Gay Underwear" is enough to emphasize his animalistic sexual charisma.
Wolfgang Eberhardt, a passionate painter, discovered his artistic talent through emotional experiences. His figurative works are created through careful use of charcoal, color pigments and binding agents, creating images full of magic and impulse. His art is a bridge of communication, with the aim of reaching the viewer deeply and triggering emotion. With love as his strongest force, he always strives to express true human feelings through his art.
