About this artwork
In the 1980s, the immune deficiency AIDS was discovered and caused great consternation and a change in sexual morality. While previously other sexually transmitted diseases could be more or less controlled, AIDS now meant a death sentence. The disease originated in apes in Africa and was passed on to humans.
