About this artwork
This original oil painting carries years of history. My inspiration came in 2017 from the unique wooden ceiling of the Green Synagogue in Rēzekne, Latvia.
The work, requiring a geometric precision unusual for me, remained unfinished until the events of autumn 2023 in the Middle East gave it profound, urgent meaning. At that moment, I knew I had to complete it.
"Synagogue Sky" is more than an architectural landscape; it's a symbol of cultural heritage… and a reminder of the world's fragility. I used colors to convey a sense of calm and deep reflection. My contemporary style here blends structure and emotion.
