About this artwork
This work is reserved for the World Art Fair Paris 2026 and available through a Gallery.
A single scarlet ibis appears within a quiet, cool-toned forest space.
The contrast between the saturated red figure and the abstracted, subdued background creates a visual tension between presence and stillness.
The figure appears attentive and self-contained at the same time, lingering in a moment of reflection without dictating a clear course of action.
Daria Startseva is a painter with a background in graphic design, trained in Vienna and Helsinki, and, after a career as an art director, devoted herself entirely to art in Zurich. She uses layered oil, acrylic, and mixed media, moving between poetic abstraction and reduced figuration, and experimenting with various media. In her rhythmic, intuitive compositions, she uses color as a vehicle of emotion, making the fleeting visible and the invisible tangible. Her works invite the viewer to intensely experience silent emotions and visual presence.
