About this artwork
This unique mixed media artwork depicts the planet Mars in warm, metallic orange tones, framed in a handcrafted, rust-effect frame. The frame (19 x 14 cm, without glass) was authentically aged using a rust iron primer and perfectly complements the artwork.
The Martian surface was modeled using three different pastes – two for shaping the surface and a coarse-grained texture paste to create a three-dimensional effect on craters and mountains. This… results in a striking 3D effect. Graphite paste was used for the space in the background, giving the scene depth and a subtle sheen. The combination of acrylic paint, metallic paint, and textures makes this painting a captivating eye-catcher.
The painting itself is done on the sturdy cardboard of the picture frame (18 x 13 cm) and is firmly attached to the frame.
