About this artwork
When I'm at the beach, I'm always amazed by the vastness of space. Gazing at the distant horizon, I realize that the Earth is truly round, even though that line appears perfectly straight to our eyes. This line becomes a common reference point, shared by everyone present, whether near or far.
In this work, I sought to convey the depth of this space by arranging the figures at varying distances. This allows the eye to move naturally between the… planes, creating a sense of movement and immersion.
The scene is also inspired by moments of sunset, when the sky is tinged with violet hues that envelop and reflect onto the bodies of the figures present.
It is an evocation of a public space for meeting and conviviality, imbued with personal memory: that of the beaches I frequent in Florianópolis.
