About this artwork
Another painting where I wanted to hold the figures at a threshold: one suspended, one twisting away, both caught between strain and support. The palette is light and the marks are gestural. I quickly reached a point where suddenly I felt it was fully resolved without more. I always like to fully work a painting in single sessions. Some paintings emerge over a series of “single sessions” where each iteration is a new painting. But this one retains…
