Inspired by Africa’s untamed beauty, this sculptural candelabra blends function with storytelling. A bronze leopard—poised and purposeful—moves silently beneath the branches of a stylised tree, which supports three candleholders above.
Handcrafted and original — most bronze pieces I create is a one-off edition. Many of the smaller, intricate details are individually wax-modelled by hand, without the use of molds, ensuring each work is completely… unique. This particular piece was cast using the traditional lost wax method in my own foundry, allowing me full control from sculpting to casting, finishing, and patination.
Whether lit or unlit, this piece brings a quiet drama and wild elegance to any space — an artwork that evokes the spirit of the African bush while serving as a functional centrepiece. Similar pieces can be commissioned in different patinas, sizes, or with alternative or related motifs — and can also be made as a pair. Bronze Leopard Candelabra, One of a Kind.
Heinrich Filter is a self-taught sculptor whose deep connection to the African wilderness—shaped by over a decade as a professional safari guide—lies at the heart of his work. Specialising in bronze, he creates powerful, handcrafted pieces that fuse lifelike realism with expressive abstraction and refined, timeless form. Inspired by Africa’s wildlife, people, and tribal heritage, Filter’s sculptures convey presence, dignity, and emotional depth. Every piece is personally crafted by the artist—from mould-making and wax work to casting, chasing, and patination—ensuring a singular vision from start to finish. His work balances classical technique with a contemporary sensibility, creating enduring pieces that celebrate the raw beauty and spirit of Africa.
