About this artwork
Watching the crickets around my house, coupled with a 3 inch small carved wooden model from Oaxaca, Mexico, inspired me to create this fantastical cricket with amazing patterns. All colors and designs are my own. I suspended the cricket as in mid jump by making a flat background with colorful cricket silhouettes. I could not incorporate their wonderful chorusing sound, but wanted to impart the pleasure they bring to me.
