Julie Hammonds, a self-taught painter with a background as a PE teacher, works primarily in oils and acrylics, drawing daily inspiration from her sea-view studio in Plymouth. Her figurative, classically traditional oil pieces “paint what she sees” but with intense color, hue, and emotion, while her acrylics embrace spontaneity, inviting form to emerge.
