The originally planned motif was different, and the artist capitulated to the will of the work: Failure is therefore the failure of the original idea, which gives way to an idiosyncratic new motif and becomes an unplanned success.
This work on paper unfolds its impact through the interplay of the deep, earthy paper color, dynamically punctuated by accents of red, black, and white. The calligraphic signs are reminiscent of graffiti and urban tags,… in which language transcends into pure form and rhythm. As in street art, a visual energy emerges here that oscillates between chaos and order. Thus, the work moves between contemporary urban culture and art-historical depth—inviting the viewer to discover new meanings in the interplay of sign, color, and emotion.
