About this artwork
Dance with me is a work that captures the fragile and intense moment of an encounter. Against a vibrant background of red and pink checkerboards, two white silhouettes emerge with a free, almost instinctive line. They face each other, approach, respond to each other—as if engaged in a silent dance, between attraction and tension.
The title acts as an invitation: to enter into the movement, to accept the other's play, to let oneself be carried away.… The composition relies on a strong contrast between the repetitive structure of the motif and the spontaneous energy of the gesture, reinforcing this impression of rhythm, almost choreographic. The deliberately simplified forms open a space for interpretation where each viewer can project their own emotions, their own stories of connection, distance, or closeness.

Ophélie Simonet, also known as KOA, is a self-taught painter born in 1987 in La Rochelle, France. Inspired by pop culture, 90s nostalgia, and her synesthesia, she favors a neo-pop, minimalist, and colorful technique, enriched by a naive style that celebrates the childlike nature of art while challenging academic conventions. Through a playful and quirky energy, her works radiate good vibes and invite us to rediscover the audacity of simplicity, awakening the child within each of us and instilling contagious joy.
