About this artwork
Photo Courtesy of Pamela Rodrick Bliss
A friend of mine, who lives in the town of Auburn, California, took this photo of a beautiful sunset. She sent it to me with the agreement that she would allow me to paint it. You’ll notice by the reference photo that in order for you to see the beautiful sunset, I needed to edit out most of the trees and branches. I felt that they would be too distracting from the sunset. One thing I’ve learned over the years… is that a beautiful photo does not always translate well to a beautiful painting. It is up to the artist (who has a discerning eye) to determine what to keep and what to remove in order to create a beautiful painting. So I was honored when she told me it was beautiful.
This painting measure 12” x 16” with an 11” x 14” image size. It will be sold both unmatted and unframed. It will fit into a standard 16” x 20” mat with an 11” x 14” image size.
