About this artwork
In this work, charcoal and acrylic merge on paper in a visceral struggle. "Trench" is not a physical place, but a state of the human soul subjected to internal pressure and siege. The piece is dramatically divided, presenting a fragmented and suffocating portrait, almost devoured by a chiaroscuro that evokes confusion, fear, and the silent resistance of a cornered consciousness. A lower band of absolute black rises like an insurmountable wall of…
silence and emptiness, representing oblivion and the limit of the unspeakable. Yet, on the edge of this abyss, small white crosses emerge, fragile and luminous, marking the trace of vulnerability and hope in a hostile environment. This piece invites us to contemplate our own vulnerability; it captures the dignity of resistance and the painful beauty of deep introspection, for the soul seeking dialogue with its own strength and its own limitations.
