About this artwork
With this resolutely refined work, Philippe Fares wanted to share with us his conception of a network.
For this, he circumscribed in a metallic cubic volume, inside a square mesh cage, two red lines which leave from two different points and have their own trajectory, without ever meeting.
The four arms that support the cage symbolize the relative power of the reticulated and limited object.
The small red cabochons at the top of the metal structure… surround and feed, the intertwining of information.
The name of this sculpture is greatly inspired by the title of William Friedkin's 1971 film: "French Connection", the story of a colossal drug traffic between France and the United States during the 1960s, which was finally dismantled. in 1970.
