About this artwork
This work of mine unfolds like an interior landscape, suspended between abstraction and visual memory. The yellow-orange background dominates the scene like a sudden flash, a light that invades and disrupts the chromatic balance, evoking a fiery sky or primordial energy.
The lower section, constructed with dark tones and dense stratifications, evokes a rugged terrain, a rough material that seems to emerge from archaic depths. The pink and white… glazes bridge the two poles, introducing a gentler rhythm that doesn't dampen but rather accompanies the visual tension.
The painted surface, rich in textures and incisions, accentuates the sensation of movement and continuous transformation: nothing is still, everything vibrates, as if the work itself were permeated by conflicting forces. The result is an image that doesn't describe, but evokes.
« If we assign a place to art by designating it a space in which it must act, then we run the risk of rendering it harmless. Art must be subversive. -Anselm Kiefer »
Pietro Daresta is an experienced artist based in Italy whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, in France, the United Arab Emirates, and Monaco. His works explore the themes of humanity and its frailties, the passage of time, and the observation of the universe, where everything is destined to change. In Daresta's most recent compositions, he has developed a more personal artisitc approach, moving from the sphere of minimalism and the conceptual towards the informal.
