This image captures the surreal sight of monumental bronze sculptures of faceless babies crawling up the Žižkov Television Tower in Prague, Czech Republic. Created by renowned Czech artist David Černý, these figures (dubbed "Babies") are both unsettling and whimsical, their alien-like appearance sparking curiosity and unease.
The faceless infants cling to the futuristic structure, seemingly defying gravity as they climb toward the heavens. The stark… contrast between the organic, rounded forms of the sculptures and the rigid, industrial tower speaks to the tension between human nature and technological progress.
Framed against a backdrop of soft, open skies, the composition had me question: are these figures ascending toward hope and growth, or are they emblematic of an endless struggle to conquer the unknown? The ambiguity mirrors contemporary existential questions about humanity’s relationship with innovation, identity, and the natural world.
Vincent Lecoq, an explorer guided by the poetry of changing spaces, uses photography to share his curiosities. His art is nourished by urban metamorphoses, where the visible and the invisible mingle, to denounce exclusion and question our borders. His images, tinged with freedom, identity and social justice, reveal a harmony hidden behind apparent divisions.
