About this artwork
Under the crust is written "the mind of the blue cat," which resurfaces at times together with the color, as if the painting itself were a skull revealing flashes of thought. The number Phi (Φ) returns obsessively as a personal reference to the golden ratio, an invisible measure that governs both the format of the work and the internal rhythm of the fractures and emergences of the blue.
The title "126.20×78" explicitly declares this hidden order:… the dimensions of the support follow the golden ratio, transforming the white surface into a "perfect" cage that the blue attempts to crack. Each work in this series is a battle between control and mental incandescence; perhaps, if you look closely, every work I create is.
ThaBlueCat, a self-taught Italian visual artist, combines painting, sculpture and symbolic language in his art. He uses techniques such as expressive divisionism and the use of translucent materials such as blue PETG for his sculptures, often backlit to symbolize an internal consciousness. His works explore the autistic condition, symbolized through the figure of the Blue Cat, trying to express themes such as perception, isolation and acute sensitivity. Emotions of tension, attention, introspection and resistance pervade his work, a resistant art form that speaks to those who feel out of step with the world.
