About this artwork

Ever since I've moved my studio outside Berlin I've returned to my practice of painting natural landscapes on-location, ''plein air'' as it is usually called. Given that my studio is in the vicinity of the River Oder, I have developed the fondness of re-visiting a particular ''look-out'' where I often tend to set up my work station. This picture was painted towards the end of 2020. The autumn was already getting colder. On that day the sky was… clear and the light very crisp. In the limited work-hours that I had, I sought to capture just that.
