About this artwork
This work is part of my European Town series. In this painting, I wanted to capture the calm and reflective mood of Ljubljana in the evening, when the city slows down and the light becomes warmer and softer. The historic buildings along the river are illuminated by the fading daylight, while their reflections gently dissolve in the dark water below.
I work with oil paint using expressive, textured brushstrokes, allowing color and light to shape… the atmosphere rather than precise detail. For me, this scene reflects a quiet dialogue between architecture, water, and sky — a moment when the city feels intimate and timeless.
