About this artwork
I painted this view of Ljubljana on a clear autumn day, when the air was already cool but the city still held the warmth of the sun. I was standing near the river and watching how the water reflected the facades, the bridge and the sky. The swans were moving slowly, almost without sound, and the whole place felt calm and welcoming.
I was drawn to the harmony between the architecture and nature — the old houses, the church tower, the trees turning… yellow and orange, and their reflections in the water. I tried to keep the colors bright and joyful, because this is exactly how the city felt to me at that moment: peaceful, intimate and full of light.
This painting is part of my European Town series, dedicated to small Central European cities and the quiet beauty of everyday life.
