About this artwork
-unavailable/on exhibit at Artists on Market until March 1st-
This painting is about memory, and how the brain "fires" signals. Layers of memory reveal lost "treasures", and uncover things forgotten. The use of metallic paint also makes for a painting that shifts, depending on how the light hits it, or where the viewer stands, just as memory shifts and changes. All this reminds us how thoughts and memories are layered and fleeting, 'til they are… uncovered again, IF they are uncovered again.
This piece is done in shades of light green, cream, white, and silver, and appears differently depending on how the light hits.
« I think art is a way in. It is an equalizer, no matter where you come from, or what language you speak. Now, more than ever, we must recognize that inter-connectedness. »
Anne Cherubim is an artist based in the United States whose paintings have been featured in several solo and group exhibitions nationally. Her works explore themes relating to the environment and stewardship of the planet. However, Cherubim is also fascinated by the essence of a place, rather than a perfect rendering. She favors bold acrylic colors in her creative process.
