About this artwork
- currently available through Artists on Market -
This painting is inspired by views of aerial/satellite imagery.
It was done towards the end of the Ethereal Series, and very much leads into my Aerial Inspired series. It was a transitional painting in that sense. Because the environment has been a focus in my work, my thought has been to ask how aerial views change over time. My assumption is that the effects of climate change would be most visible… in looking at coastlines. I hope to revisit this series in several years, with new imagery and data. The expectation is that it may show the ravages of time unfortunately.
Metallic paint causes the image to appear differently depending on how the light hits it, or where the viewer is standing, making for a dynamic painting.
Its colours are serene, and it has some vibrant depth to it.

« I think art is a way in. It is an equalizer, no matter where you come from, or what language you speak. Now, more than ever, we must recognize that inter-connectedness. »
Anne Cherubim is an artist based in the United States whose paintings have been featured in several solo and group exhibitions nationally. Her works explore themes relating to the environment and stewardship of the planet. However, Cherubim is also fascinated by the essence of a place, rather than a perfect rendering. She favors bold acrylic colors in her creative process.
