In the vastness of the Moroccan desert there are moments when time holds its breath.
This work was created on such a day – windless, clear, wide.
As the sun slowly fought its way through the thin cirrus clouds, this perfect circle suddenly appeared in the sky: a solar halo.
Such light phenomena are created by ice crystals at high altitudes – scientifically explainable, but deeply poetic in their effect.
What remains is a quiet, magical moment.… A circle of light over a land that, in its archaic tranquility, has been telling the same story for centuries.
I saw it as a circle of silence – a visual meditation.
