About this artwork
I started this painting with many colors. They gradually disappeared and got covered by muted shades. I wanted to give it a soft feeling, a bit Morandi like! But I have to admit that this painting was actually treated very roughly. I scratched and layered a lot of paint before it ended up in these innocent soft and sweet pastels. I reckon sweetness is something we can use these days, right?

« I like to play with reality, colors, light, shapes, movements, and transform images. They might appear a little distorted, even if realistic, but I always search for harmony. »
Bea Evers is an artist based in the Netherlands whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and in Italy. While the themes in her works have changed throughout the years, her current pieces are primarily semi-abstract landscapes. Evers describes her art as an invitation to the viewer to feel a sense of spaciousness, while also "giving the eye something to search for". She most often creates using acrylics and charcoal on wood or canvas.
