About this artwork
For a long time, this painting was in the family's private home and therefore rarely seen. But now it seems to be finding its way out into the world. The subject matter was intended to depict the entanglements of humanity and their desire for freedom, as well as the purity of a liberated being. Due to the oil painting technique on cardboard, it is one of my unique works.
Carl Röhrig, trained at the Academy of Graphic Arts in Munich, works primarily with acrylic and oil paintings on canvas. Using his special relief technique, he creates fantastical naturalism where depth of detail is paramount. Influenced by Max Ernst and the Surrealists, Röhrig's art explores nature, the environment, and endangered animals in a hyperrealistic way to highlight the beauty of our world. His work radiates joie de vivre and invites individual spirituality.
