The feeling of being swallowed by the greedy maw of duties,
to be swallowed up by worries and demands.
The daily routine causes the body to become rigid.
Loaded, indeed stuffed with conventions,
Fashions, hierarchies and ideals of beauty,
longing and joy remain deeply hidden.
It takes a lot of strength to escape this absorption.
Women in art know the dilemma,
between freedom and duty/family.…
Patriarchy and religion add their part.
Here the 1920s meet contemporary art.
The exemption from existing conventions is in the
Art is always the driving force for new paths.
Here the twenties of the last century are in dialogue with the twenties of the 21st century.
