About this artwork
Residual Tension explores the fragile space between presence and disappearance. Using deep Prussian blue and layers of white, I build and erase simultaneously, allowing forms to emerge, fragment, and dissolve across the surface.
Rather than illustrating emotions directly, the series investigates what remains after pressure, hesitation, or restraint. The works balance density and emptiness, movement and stillness, creating a psychological tension… that lingers beneath the surface.
As the series evolved, the paintings became quieter and more reduced, shifting from compressed gestures toward fragility, silence, and traces of residual energy.
