Residual Tension XI is the final work in an eleven-painting series exploring the traces left behind by pressure, restraint, and emotional intensity.
In this piece, the visual language is reduced to its most essential form. A concentrated mass of deep Prussian blue occupies one side of the canvas, while the surrounding space remains largely untouched. Rather than seeking resolution, the work holds tension in suspension, balancing density against… emptiness and presence against disappearance.
As the concluding painting of the series, Residual Tension XI does not offer closure. Instead, it functions as a final residue, a condensed fragment of energy that persists after everything else has faded away.
