About this artwork
In this pop art work, I pay homage to the iconic figure of Mick Jagger, combining musical and pictorial symbols in a powerful composition. I chose an almost hyperrealist approach to capture not only his distinctive features but also his magnetic presence. The paintbrush he holds, dripping with black paint, represents for me a suspended creative gesture: the fluidity of art and music, but also the fragility of fame. In the background, the writing…
"Painted Black" on a red door recalls the famous Rolling Stones song, transforming a typical element of English architecture into a cultural symbol. With this work, I reflect on how pop culture is constantly reinterpreted, and how artists and icons influence each other over time.
