A drawing in watercolor pencils and watercolor paint, inspired by Japanese anemones from our wild garden. These Japanese beauties appear fragile and delicate, yet possess strength and often bloom here well into October. I captured them with light, soft tones, flowing colors, and shimmering copper pigments, combining this with light, sensitive drawing – I wanted the flowers to appear delicate, yet luminous, a little windblown, and, despite their fragility,… quite resilient. The semi-abstract style and the gentle lightness of the watercolors are wonderfully suited to bringing a soft, dreamy atmosphere full of late-summer warmth to your home.
Note: The watercolor drawing has a white border which, if desired, can be used for mounting a passe-partout. The paper size is 40 x 30 cm, as stated above; the image itself measures 26.5 x 36.8 cm.
