About this artwork
Dreams of who we could be are central to my artistic work. Especially in moments of departure—like during a vacation or a trip—spaces emerge far removed from everyday life, where new perspectives become possible. It's a time for reflection, for quiet questions: Who would I be if I hadn't defined myself? And with the return to everyday life, something often remains—a connection to one's own, unadulterated self.
This series stems precisely from this… inner process. The underlying photographic motif was taken in a hotel in Hong Kong and was brushed onto aluminum Dibond and reworked with colors. Delicate, pastel layers of color meet a shimmering surface, creating an atmosphere between reality and dream.
The works invite the viewer to pause and delve into their own inner world. For me, dreams are far more than fleeting images – they are signposts and constant companions.

Eva Silberknoll, a graduate of the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, works with photography, textile techniques and fragrances.
