About this artwork
THE EYE OF GAUDI I painted The Eye of Gaudí as one answers a call.
For me, Gaudí is not an architect to be observed, but a presence that acts, that permeates, that captivates. His work taught me that matter can be alive, that stone can dream, that nature and the sacred speak the same language.
In this circular painting, I wanted to allow the inner vision that his work awakened in me to emerge. The Sagrada Família becomes a tree, rooted in the earth… and reaching towards the sky. At its threshold appears a single eye: not a human gaze, but a vision, a silent consciousness. This eye is both mine and the one Gaudí opened within me.
The sea, the sky, animals, and plant forms mingle freely, as in a dream. The mosaics, dotted lines, and vibrant colors convey the movement, life, and energy that flow everywhere. Nothing is static: everything observes, everything breathes, everything communicates.
FLOD, a French painter and sculptor based in Spain, works mainly in painting using dot art, spirals and gold; she draws on a self-taught background and studies at the Beaux-Arts in Avignon. Her technique lies between the abstract and the figurative, she gives herself entirely to this indefinite sphere which requires both poetry and mastery of technique. She favors a symbolic, unreal and poetic approach; each work, singular, honors the magic of colors and the generosity of the material. She infuses her art with dreams, escape, and a vibrant joy, deeply touching the soul of the spectator.
