About this artwork
The reflection of grasses and rushes on the surface of a Krka pond transforms a detail of the landscape into an almost abstract composition. The stems distort in the water, intersecting and overlapping, while the shades of blue and green create a soft and shifting atmosphere.
I wanted to capture that moment when the real subject fades away, giving way to the lines and forms it produces in its reflection. Water then becomes a space of transformation,… where the observation of nature leads almost naturally towards abstraction.
The drawing is made on 140µm polyester film measuring 65x50cm, using wax crayons.
