This is not a painting about discovering freedom. It is about remembering it. Her eyes are closed in the particular way of someone turning inward to the part of herself that was never shaped by expectation, never made smaller by what others needed her to be. That part is still there.… It was always there.
Liberté belongs to the Limitless Women universe as a portrait of the identity that lives beneath all our other identities. Before the career and the role and the daily negotiation of who we have to be, there is something older and more animal and entirely free. This painting gives that something a face.
Real freedom is not a violent thing. When it is genuine, it is the gentlest thing in the world. She was always free. And now, she knows.

Geethu Chandramohan is a contemporary mixed-media portrait artist and aerospace engineer based in Hertfordshire, UK. Her work explores the many identities women carry through a single life. Working with layered acrylics, oils, spray paint, and textured mediums, she builds surfaces where structural precision meets expressive freedom. Her block-like colour planes reflect her engineering background, while flowing marks and vibrant colour represent the intuitive world of painting.
