About this artwork
The Florentine artist Gregorio Codagnone thus denounces the environmental pollution caused by plastic. Every minute the equivalent of a truck full of plastic ends up in the oceans, causing the death and systematic destruction of all kinds of living ecosystems.
"I will start a new series of paintings and sculptures to say enough to self-destruction" - the artist begins - The goal is to sensitize every inhabitant of the world on this very important… issue, so far widely discussed but little implemented in practice.
The work, called "Tears", is made with a rigid plastic sheet, created by the fusion of thousands of bottle caps recovered from the beaches of the Tuscan coast.
Melted thanks to the heat and molded to form this sort of "frozen" cry in the desired position. The artist criticizes both the material itself and its workmanship, as they are also harmful to the environment and all its inhabitants.

« I am a dreamer and a visionary who represents his mind and what he feels. »
Gregorio Codagnone is a painter and sculptor based in Italy whose works have been exhibited nationally. Passionate about art in all its forms, he is inspired by architecture and the materials that "make up things". Codagnone's current sculptural pieces explore the concept of composition and decomposition, nature returning to nature. However, in his pictorial works, he integrates sensations and emotions that bind internal areas that are fragmented and distant from each other.
