About this artwork
There’s a sort of translucency happening everywhere that the artist has achieved in this masterful piece. This effect is achieved from lots and lots of patience, sanding between each of the many layers of acrylic paint, and often finishing a layer with a glaze to give even more depth. Isabelle painted this entire piece while listening to classical piano, mostly Shubert. The title came while I she was painting it. The Water Dance is not intended… for a frame. The edge detail is a natural birchwood, with no visible grains - a stunningly beautiful contrast between natural and abstract. Isabelle painted this on a cradled birch wood panel because the wood stands up to her process of sanding back into her work to reveal the history of the painting. This piece is wired and ready to hang. Although on cradled wood, it's not heavy, and one person should be able to hang it with ease. The detailed photos don't quite capture the details, the layers, but they help.
« Beautiful art comes from inspiration. Inspiration comes from being present, from feeling alive. That's what art is for. »
