About this artwork
This piece belongs to some of the very first Roll-Outs I produced. It is painted on an original micro-textile Coca-Cola advertising banner. I remember how much the Coca-Cola colour red in the banner affected me and how I wanted to keep its glow. The title of the piece, ''Tourist, Go Home!'' comes right out of Berlin: the writing-on-the-wall. It's also a little bit of the city attitude. At the time I was trying to build up an art collective called… Cool&Tot. This piece was exibited at a few of our group shows. My use of the MoFo character is here also at its very inception. I still love the two ''nudes''. Their execution is as clean as the red banner.
Ivan Jovanovic oRSoF, a Serbian-Canadian painter, printmaker, and visual artist with a rich background in fine arts and filmmaking, thrives on the interplay between direct observation and inventive material application. He embraces an expressive, figurative style—infusing thick impasto, raw industrial materials, and found objects—using gestural techniques inspired by the likes of Van Gogh, Auerbach, and Kiefer. His works pulse with kinetic energy, capturing the vibrancy, turbulence, and contemplative depths of urban and natural landscapes, ultimately inviting the viewer to experience the raw, immediate power of artistic discovery.
