About this artwork
During a stay in Lisbon, I visited Castelo de S. Jorge. There, beneath the greenery of the castle grounds, you can find peacocks roaming freely. The louder a peacock's hoots, the more impressive it is. Peacocks are at their loudest during the mating season, and then they become progressively quieter. I had the opportunity to photograph a peacock posing on a wall of the castle grounds, which later became this acrylic painting.
