About this artwork
"Storm" is a semi-intuitive abstract pastel painting which is something I create when I want to relax after working on more involved pieces. Sometimes I'll work on these while painting other projects as a way to keep perfectionism at bay.
The result reminded me of a spring storm, cleansing the air through its unharnessed energy and oh so refreshing afterwards!
Here, I used mostly crushed pastel bits, then smeared them and used rubbing alcohol… for the drip effects. "Storm" is created with pastel and alcohol wash on 600 grit #Uart paper 12" H x 9" W unframed.
