About this artwork
Conservation and climate change are deeply important to me. So if you get the chance to take a walk, notice the trees. Really notice them. They say a lot without speaking as we do.
I had found this decaying tree in a local park while walking, and it felt like it had reached out with its last gasp, with the look of a frozen scream. Nature so wants us to hear, to see, to experience, to connect with her.
It is a reminder to "listen" to our environment,… which is so easily overlooked and taken for granted. The trees have a lot to "say".
Titled "Tree Scream no.2", this piece is an Expressionist piece in homage to my one of my favorite artists, Edvard Munch. His work, deeply rooted in psychology, had a profound influence on my development as an artist. PanPastels on Arches coldpress 140 lb. paper, 12" x 7.75 " unframed
